Vanessa is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas, holding a Master of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Vanessa specializes in treating Anxiety, Depression, Attachment Disorder, ADD/ADHD, Abuse, Grief and Loss, Codependency, Enmeshment Trauma, Enabling Behavior, Life Transitions, People Pleasing Behaviors, PTSD and Trauma, Relationship Issues, Substance Abuse and Multicultural and Diverse Issues. She enjoys working with adults to break barriers, establish healthy boundaries and achieve their greatest potential.
Vanessa utilizes Attachment Theory, Adlerian therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Family Systems, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) treatment modalities. With these treatment techniques, Vanessa's goal is to help her clients replace limiting and sabotaging beliefs with new narratives crucial to understanding themselves and those around them to create quality relationships with self and others.
Vanessa’s has a warm, welcoming, and authentic approach to therapy which helps to bring down defensive walls her clients may have. She focuses on understanding her client’s values, morals, and motivators to be able to tailor a therapeutic experience that leaves clients feeling validated and understood. Vanessa is also passionate about helping all people who desire something more or to find fulfillment in their life. She helps her clients find forgiveness and healing while holding them accountable and validating their experience throughout the entire journey.
